The Clinton County Bulldogs dropped its record to 1-7 Friday night after district rival Green County pulled off the 57-14 win.
Head Coach Rocky Tallent said even though there was a running clock by halftime, his Dawgs performed well in the early part of the game.
“We got the ball in their territory several times in the first half, but we just couldn’t make much progress,” Tallent said. “Green County has been solid this year. We’ve struggled to stop the ball on the run this year and they are good at the running game. Their quarterback is what killed us. We couldn’t slow him down.”
Tallent said Green County recovered some onside kicks that hurt the Dawgs in the game.
“We struggled to getting stops on third down,” Tallent said.
Tallent and crew came off a bye week in which rest and healing was needed.
“It’s not the results you want coming off a bye week,
