Thrill of the Grill class at
Extension Office July 2
Summer marks the time to move our cooking from the kitchen to the backyard grill. Using the grill can be a fun way to add sizzle to your cooking experiences especially when you practice grilling fruits and vegetables in addition to meats.
The Thrill of the Grill class offered at the Clinton County Extension Office on Wednesday, July 2nd at both 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. provide tips about the best cuts of meat for the outdoor grill, recipes for grilling with fruits and vegetables, and discuss the importance of keeping our food safe throughout the grilling experience.
Techniques will be demonstrated and samples will be provided. The class is free, but preregistration is required.

2004 CCHS class reunion
Anyone who plans to attend the Clinton County High School Class of 2004 10-year reunion on Saturday, July 12 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset and plans on having dinner (cost $20 per person) will need to turn in their money to Heather Mann at Horizon by Friday, June 27 at 3 p.m. or to the reunion committee at Jones Restaurant at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28. Anyone who plans on attending the reunion may pay ($5 per person) at the aforementioned or at the door the night of the reunion.
Soil Conservation meeting
The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, June 27 at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room of the FSA/NRCS office. The meeting is open to the public.
City Council regular meeting
Albany City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, July 1 at 5 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public.
Independence Day Cruise-In

Park board regular meeting
The Recreation Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the general public. 36-2
CCHS Alumni Band to perform
The Clinton County Alumni Band will be performing this year at the July 4th fireworks show at Mountain View Park. Please make plans to attend practice on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at the high school band room.
Hunter Ed Instructor class
The KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife will sponsor a Hunter Education Instructor class Saturday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time (8-3 Central) at the Wayne County Sportsman’s Club in Monticello. The instructor class will allow the participants to help teach the KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife’s hunter education course. It is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who has already completed the hunter education student course (orange card). Fire memberships due
Anyone who is not currently receiving city water may want to purchase a fire membership with the City of Albany. If you are already paying fire membership dues, it is time for renewal. Your 2014-15 dues are due by July 1, 2014. The fiscal year runs from July to June 30 of the following year. CCHS Class of ‘61 reunion
The CCHS Class of 1961 will have a reunion July 12, 2014 the at South Kentucky RECC building at 715 Snow Road, Albany, Kentucky from 1-5 p.m. It is free. Drinks and snacks will be available.
