Derby Day and ECC Run for the Roses

The second annual Derby Day was held in Downtown Albany Saturday and the weather was perfect for getting outside and enjoying the festivities.
PTA President and Clinton County Community Foundation member Sarah Wilson-Browning said it was a good day for those who attended.
“The weather was cooperative and we had steady foot traffic to our vendors throughout the day. It was nice to have the support of a few of our local candidates throughout the day.  The kids and families that took part in the day enjoyed the various activities. We could not have had such a successful day without the help from our silk sponsors and event sponsors. Our goal was to give our community a fun event for families in keeping with the Kentucky Derby spirit and I think we accomplished that,” Browning said.  “We will be posting individual pictures of our sponsored silks for online viewer’s choice voting this week, as well as a detailed list of all of those that made Saturday possible. I know that next year will be even bigger and better and look forward to seeing this event continue to grow. We want to extend a special thank you to the Foothills Festival committee for allowing us to utilize their space and always supporting advances like this for our community.
Sponsors for the Derby Silks included: Tyson
Clinton County care and Rehab, Albany Nails, Monticello Banking Company
Elite Express
State Farm – Jeannie Bandy, Clear Minds, CBI, The Fig Leaf, Klassic Shop, Tom Simmons, First and Farmers National Bank, Keith Dalton, Clinton County Pharmacy, Junction Station, City Hall  and, Big Jim’s Pharmacy.
