The new Clinton County Grand Jury, convening last Monday, July 15, had a very light session with only two indictments and one individual being named in true bills in open circuit court.

The grand jury alleged that Marshall S. Speer committed the offenses of second degree burglary and possession of burglary tools when on or about April 25, the defendant entered or remained unlawfully in Hilltop Store with the intent to commit a crime, while possessing a pair of bolt cutters.

(Editor’s Note: An indictment is a statement of probable cause to believe an offense has been committed and further court proceedings are warranted. Individuals names within an indictment are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.)
