Racket Dawgs sweep Metcalfe, Lady Racket Dawgs pick up one match

DSC_7216.psdThe Clinton County Racket Dawgs and Lady Racket Dawgs took advantage of the 70 plus degree weather Monday, March 21, 2011, to host Metcalfe County at Clinton County High School for the team’s first home match of the season.

The boys’ team picked up four wins, including three singles matches and one doubles match.

In singles competition, it was Jordan Vincent and Kolby Smith picking up 8-0 wins in their respective matches, and William Cox with the 8-2 decision.

In doubles play, the team of Haley Matthews and Glen England shutout the Metcalfe County team, 8-0.

For the Lady Racket Dawgs, Senior Danielle Brown picked up the only win for Clinton County with an 8-2 decision.

Bianca Soma lost her match, 8-3, Holly Adams fell, 8-5, Amber Harper lost to Tori Hampton, 8-1 and Laura Groce fell to Reagan Martin, 8-4.

Also in singles competition, both Meagan Harlan and Kiley Hoppe were defeated, 8-0 during Monday’s match.

In doubles competition, it was the team of Brown and Soma losing, 8-0, Adams and Harper fell, 8-1 and the Groce/Hoppe team lost, 8-5.

Both teams will be back at home on Thursday, March 24, 2011, against Cumberland County.
