New program at Twin Lakes

Wellness Center geared toward youth

Tyler King and Dee Soma have started a new class at Twin Lakes Wellness Center called FAST for youth ages 8-18 years old.

FAST stands for Functional Aerobic Strength Training and will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Get your child active and fit with FAST! For athletes or anybody wanting to get in better shape, join us for body weight exercises and circuit training. Call 606-387-9622 for more information.

Local Planning

Committee meeting

On behalf of the Clinton County Board of Education, the Clinton County Local Planning Committee will meet on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Central Office board room at 5 p.m. local time. The purpose of this meeting is to show the orientation video part two and to review the proposed District Facilities Plan.

Car, bike, tractor, and rat rod show

The fifth annual car, bike, tractor and rat rod show will be Saturday, August 10 at the Harvest Fellowship Church of God, 618 Bennett Hill Road in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. Besides the trophies there will be door prizes, 50/50 drawing, silent auction and food/drinks. All proceeds go to the Building and Youth Fund. Clinton County Care and
Rehabilitation Center to host art gallery on July 25

Clinton County Care and Rehabilitation Center will host its first Reflect N’ Us Art Gallery on Thursday, July 25, at 6:00 p.m.

The Art Gallery will showcase artwork by Clinton County Care and Rehab’s own residents using a variety of mediums. The gallery also will feature other creations by the nursing home residents, including quilts, jewelry and more.

Family, friends and all in the community are invited to come witness our beloved residents’ creativity on display, and join us in celebrating their talents.

Wellness Center fitness classes 

The Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center is offering the following fitness classes: 

* Mondays: Dancercise, 8:30 a.m.; cycling, 3:30 p.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30-5 p.m.; cycling, 5 p.m.; Line Dancing, 6:15 p.m.

* Tuesdays: Pilates/Yoga, 8:30 a.m.; Dancercise, 9:30 a.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30 p.m.; cycling, 5 p.m.; Zumba (beginner), 6:15 p.m. 

* Wednesdays: Dancercise, 8:30 a.m. 

* Thursdays: Pilates/Yoga, 8:30 a.m.; Dancercise, 9:30 a.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30 p.m.; cycling, 5 p.m.; Zumba, 6:15 p.m. 

* Friday: Dancercise, 8:30 a.m. 

Line Dancing from 5:30-7 p.m. every second Friday of each month. Free to members, $3.00 for non-members. Zumba classes with membership is $2.50 per class; non-members $5 per class. All other Group Fitness Classes are included in the membership.

Class of 1958 reunion planned

The Clinton County High School Class of 1958 will hold its 55th anniversary reunion on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 4-10 p.m. at the Dale Hollow Lake State Park. Lodging reservations at the park may be made by calling 800-325-2282. All class members are urged to attend, including members who started with the class but did not graduate, as well as spouses of deceased members. AA meeting 

AA will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church. 

VA Rep available 

Veterans and their families seeking benefits in south central Kentucky will now be able to find help and advice at a central location. Gary Jones, the Veterans Benefits Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 126 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Tuesday, second Thursday and third Monday of each month. Narcotics Anonymous 

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights at 7 p.m. at the Bright Idea Missionary Baptist Church basement in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.
