Boils takes title in national archery tourney

Jase Boils recently competed in the Archery Shooters Association Archery Classic in Cullman, Alabama this past weekend finishing in first place in the youth pins division.

Boils shot 20 3D style targets on Friday, August 2, shooting 18 up. He also shot 20 targets on Saturday, finishing six up for the round giving him a 424 final score.

Boils’ first place finish awarded the opportunity to compete in the final three arrows called the “Shoot Down”, against the top three finishers in the division.

During the Shoot Down, Boils hit a 12 ring on his first target, 10 on his second target and a 10 on his third target, finishing the round with a 456 and he accumulated 15 pro 12’s during his entire round.

The closest any other competitor came to Boils’ score was a second place score of 448.

Boils received a plaque from the ASA, as well as a medallion from Bowtech.

Boils, 13, competed against 34 other youth archers with ages ranging up to 15 years of age.

The ASA Archery Classic is the final shoot of the year, with tournaments starting again in February 2014.

Jase is the son of Phillip and Joanna Boils.

Other competitors from Albany, included, Jonathan Cook, T. J. Stearns, Chad Stockton, Krista Carroll, Phillip Boils and Brett Gibson.
