South Kentucky RECC has presented eleven $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in its service territory, including one to a Clinton County High School graduate.

This year’s recipient of the scholarship from Clinton County High School was Deann Wallen, the daughter of Tony and Connie Wallen of Albany.

Alan Coffey, Member Services and Marketing Manager for SKRECC, said that scholarships are one way that South Kentucky RECC can help achieve part of its mission statement, approved by the board of directors in 1999, to “improve the quality of life in its communities.”

“South Kentucky RECC’s board of directors, management team, and employees are very proud of the young people in our area, and we recognize their importance in our communities. South Kentucky RECC also realizes the importance of education and the impact that it will have on our area. It is toward this effort that we have always tried to assist students financially to further their educations in hopes that they will bring back to our communities what they have learned.”
