Golf teams hit the links last week

Clinton County’s first match came in the shape of a tournament held at Dale Hollow, where the team finished 12th out of 23 teams with a score of 341 on 18 holes.

Kenny Stinson finished with an 82, Kolby Smith scored an 84, Jeff Brown shot an 87 and John Crouch rounded out scoring with an 88.

The boys team also played host during a regular match at Dale Hollow Tuesday, August 6, against Cumberland County and Metcalfe County.

The Golf Dawgs won the tri-match, 164 to Cumberland County’s 188 and Metcalfe County’s 189.

Individual scoring was Smith – 38, Reed Sloan – 41, Brown – 42, and Crouch – 43.

For the girls’ team, Clinton County finished the round as a team with a 201, comprised of Ansley Stalcup – 43, Samantha Stinson – 48, Macy Campbell – 54, and London Honeycutt – 56. Cumberland County finished with a 225 giving Clinton County the win for the match.

The Lady Dawgs also competed in the Barren County Invitational Tournament finishing the 18-hole tournament with a 393.

Individual scoring was: Campbell – 94, Stalcup – 96, Stinson – 97 and Bree Boils – 106.

London Honeycutt watched as her ball traveled toward the hole. Clinton County hosted Metcalfe County and Cumberland County at Dale Hollow State Park on Tuesday, August 6. Honeycutt finished with a 56. Both the girls’ and boys’ team will host the All “A” Regional Tournament Monday, August 19.

Jamison Derryberry chipped up close to the hole during last week’s match against Metcalfe and Cumberland County. The Dawgs won the tri-match at Dale Hollow by shooting a team score of, 164.

Reed Sloan watched his ball after a chip during last week’s match against Metcalfe and Cumberland Counties at Dale Hollow State Park. Clinton County won the tri-match and Sloan finished with a 41 for the round.

Macy Campbell chipped up and onto the green last week during Clinton County’s match against Cumberland and Metcalfe Counties. Campbell finished her round with a 54. Clinton County is playing its home matches at Dale Hollow State Park.
