Stinson qualifies for All ‘A’ State

Both the boys’ and girls’ golf teams took to their home course Monday to host the All “A” Classic Regional Golf Tournament.

For the boys’ team, a three way tie in the individual round saw Clinton County’s Kenny Stinson and Jeff Brown in a three-way play off with a Monroe County player.

Stinson parred the first hole of the playoff while Brown and the Monroe County player scored a bogey, making Stinson eligible for the individual state tournament. Stinson finished the round with a 41.

Other scores for Clinton County were Brown – 41, Kolby Smith – 45 and Kyle Choate – 45.

Clinton County placed second overall with a team score of 172. Glasgow won as a team, shooting a 166.

The Lady Dawgs placed third in its tournament with a team score of 178. Ansley Stalcup finished with a 45, Macy Campbell carded a 42 and was one stroke off from qualifying for state, Bree Boils shot a 43 and Samantha Stinson rounded out scoring with a 48. London Honeycutt finished her round with a 53.

Glasgow’s girls team also won the tournament with a team score of 161 and Monroe County placed second with a team score of 169.

Clinton County Golf Dawg Jeff Brown put this approach shot in the air Monday afternoon on the 14th hole at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park during the All “A” Classic regional tournament. Brown finished the day with a score of 41 and Clinton County finished with a team score of 172 for a second place finish.

Clinton County Lady Golf Dawg Samantha Stinson chipped onto the ninth green Monday afternoon during the All “A” Classic regional golf tournament at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park. Stinson finished the day with a score of 48 to help her team to a third place finish in the event.
