Letter to the editor

To the Editor,

I was making another payment on a debt. I told the lady giving me a receipt, little by little, I was getting this thing paid off. Later, I thought, if I could save a little each month, it could amount up too.

You can lose money drip by drip or gain drip by drip. Like most everything else, it’s your decision to make.

Matthew 10:42 says, “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”

For me, a reward means God is watching you. God knows things about you that you think nobody else knows. Good or bad. Everybody should want to make God smile, and be proud of you.

A cup of cold water seems small. Not to God! There is hope for someone who will do even the smallest good. Holding the door open for someone. Don’t cuss them out when they pull out in front of you. Don’t do what’s right just for the reward someday. Do what’s right to give honor to God.

Romans 8:31 explains it saying, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” God’s on the right and honest side. So should you.
