Free flu shots

Rec/Park Board regular meeting

The Clinton County Rec/Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, August 29 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the general public.

Car, bike and tractor show

Join us at the Adair County Fairgrounds in Columbia, rain or shine, for a car, bike and tractor show, anytime from morning to 3 p.m. on Monday, September 2 (Labor Day) to see some of the finest cars, bikes and tractors in Kentucky. Cornhole tournament

The 2nd annual Wolf River Resort corn-hole tournament will be held Saturday, September 28 starting at 4 p.m. Central Time. There will be door prizes, 50/50 drawing and other entertainment. Please register at the dock by 2 p.m. Central Time.

Swimming lessions at TLFWC

Have you never learned to swim? Always wished you could?

Twin Lakes Wellness Center will be having an adult Learn to Swim Class September 9th thru the 13th at 6 p.m. cost is $45.

Registration ends September 6.

TLFWC is also offering an Advance Swim Class September 9 thru 13th at 5 p.m.

Swimming lessons for beginners September 9 thru 13th at 4 p.m. ages 4-7 years old.

New at TLFWC

Tyler King and Dee Soma have started a new kid’s class called FAST ages 8-18 years old.

FAST stands for Functional Aerobic Strength Training. 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Get your child active and fit with FAST. For athletes or anybody wanting to get in better shape. Mostly body weight exercises and circuits. Call 606-387-9622 for more information.

* Mondays: Lap Swimming, 5:30 a.m.; Water Aerobics, 8:30 a.m.; cycling, 3:30 p.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30-5 p.m.; Line Dancing, 5 p.m.; Kid Fit Club 7-12 year olds, 6 p.m.; Water Aerobics, 6 p.m.

* Tuesdays: Lap Swimming, 5:30 a.m.; Pilates/Yoga, 8:30 a.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30 p.m.; Cycling, 5 p.m.; FAST, 8-18 year olds, 5:30 p.m.; Zumba, 6:15 p.m. 

* Wednesdays: Lap Swimming, 5:30 a.m.; Water Aerobics, 8:30 a.m.; Tai Chi, 10 a.m.; Kid Fit Club, 4 p.m. 4 – 7 year olds.

* Thursdays: Lap Swimming, 5:30 a.m.; Pilates/Yoga, 8:30 a.m.; Ab Ripper, 4:30 p.m.; Cycling, 5 p.m.; FAST, 8-18 year olds, 5:30 p.m.; Self Defense, 6:15 Public Swimming (lifeguard on duty) 4 – 7:30 p.m., $3.

* Friday: Lap Swimming, 5:30 a.m.; Water Aerobics, 8:30 a.m.

* Sunday: Public Swimming, (lifeguard on duty) 1 – 4 p.m. $3.

Zumba classes with membership is $2.50 per class; non-members, $5 per class. All other group fitness classes are included in the membership.

Facility Hours: Monday – Friday 5 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Sunday – 1 – 4 p.m.

21st Century fall soccer registration

21st Century registration for the Fall 2012 Soccer is now underway. Students ages 3-12 may participate. Registration forms are due Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Forms will be sent home with students or may be picked up at the Wellness Center. For more information call 387-9452.

City Council regular meeting

Albany City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, September 3 at 5 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public.

Narcotics Anonymous meetings

Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7-8 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church for anyone wanting help with their problems.

Get Your Couponing On!

A Couponing Class will be offered on Thursday, August 29th beginning at 6:00pm at the Clinton County Extension Office, located on North 127. Amy Cecil will teach the basic steps in using coupons in Albany. This class is free and for all ages. The class will be relaxed, friendly, and very informative. Want to go green as you clean? Many people seek natural cleaning methods to reduce exposure to harsh chemicals while helping the family budget.
