Golf teams continue to add wins to seasons

The Clinton County girls’ golf team hosted Cumberland County, Green County and Pickett County Friday, August 30 at Dale Hollow State Resort Park.

The Lady Golf Dawgs picked up the win over the three other schools with a team score of 179.

Individual scoring included: Macy Campbell – 42, Ansley Stalcup – 43, Bree Boils – 47, Sam Stinson – 47 and London Honeycutt – 51.

Cumberland County shot a team score of 242 and Green County finished with 194. Pickett County only carded two individual scores and wasn’t counted in team standings.

On the boys side, Clinton County has won several matches this season, posting a record of 7-3 on the year.

In the teams most recent matches, Clinton County lost to Adair County on August 22, 163-167. Kenny Stinson posted a 38, Jeffery Brown and Kolby Smith both carded 41 and John Crouch finished with a 47.

On August 26, Clinton County traveled to Russell County and won the match, 174-192.

Stinson carded a 42, Brown shot a 45, Smith posted a 41 and Crouch finished with a 46.

Clinton County traveled to Wayne County Tuesday, August 27, and was defeated 146-167. Stinson posted a 35, Smith with a 38, Reed Sloan shot 44 and Brown finished with a 46.

The Bulldogs hosted Pickett County Thursday at Dale Hollow in a three-man match. Clinton County won the match 116-189, with Stinson posting a one under par 35, Eli Brown carding a 40 and Brown with a 41.
