On Sunday night, August 25, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a white male entered Jimmy’s Food Mart, located off the public square, produced a handgun, and demanded money.

Burkesville Assistant Police Chief Lawrence Nettles said the man stole a large amount of cash.

“We have a suspect,” Nettles said. “And a warrant for his arrest.” Nettles said the name of the suspect would be released when an arrest was made.
