Elite Cheer BBQ fundraiser

Clinton County Elite Cheer squad will be having a BBQ fundraiser on the square in Albany (next to Little Bo Peep) Friday, September 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds go to cheerleaders for uniforms. Come out and support our local girls. They are selling BBQ plates and sandwiches–shoulder, chicken and shredded pork with beans and slaw for sides, baked goods and drinks. To place an order call 606-387-9893. We will deliver to businesses in Albany (five orders or more.)

Project Graduation meeting

Project Graduation will meet Monday, September 9 at 6 p.m. at the CCHS cafeteria. All seniors and parents are urged to attend.

Farm Bureau annual meeting

Clinton County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting will be Thursday, September 12 at 6 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds building.

Board of Education meeting

The Clinton County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, September 9 at 5 p.m. at the Central Office conference room. The meeting is open to the general public.

Cordell Hull Festival pageant

The Cordell Hull Festival Pageant has been scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Pickett County K-8 School Gym in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. for the age groups of infant through eight years of age, with the pageant beginning at 3 p.m. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. for the age groups of nine years through 21 years, with that portion of the pageant beginning at 6 p.m. There will be eight total categories of competition. Contestants must compete in their respective age category at the time of the pageant. Dress competition will be formal. A Miss Photogenic Contest will be held for each category with the contestant supplying the photograph. The photograph may be color or black and white. The photograph’s size must not exceed 8×10. Car, truck, & motorcycle show

The Rev’ved Up For A Cause car, truck and motorcycle show will be held Saturday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cumberland County High School in Burkesville, Kentucky. Entry fee is $10 per class with trophies to be awarded in 20 categories. There will be food (including BBQ), fun, music and a parade of cars at the conclusion. CCHS Class of 1968 reunion

The Class of 1968 would like to invite all class members who attended CCHS with us from 1965-1968 to attend our 45th class reunion luncheon on November 9, 2013 starting at 12 noon Central Time. The BBQ luncheon will be held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds building in Albany. The cost is $15 each or $25 per couple, due by October 1. We have established an open Facebook page, Clinton Co., KY Class of 1968. Invitations are being sent out to the addresses we have on file. Jewelry and accessory sale at hospital

A $5 jewelry and accessory sale will be held Thursday, September 12 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clinton County Hospital dining room, sponsored by the Clinton County Hospital Auxiliary. All proceeds benefit Clinton County Hospital. Shop early for Christmas!

Swimming lessions at TLFWC

Have you never learned to swim? Always wished you could?

Twin Lakes Wellness Center will be having an adult Learn to Swim Class September 9th thru the 13th at 6 p.m. cost is $45.

Registration ends September 6.

TLFWC is also offering an Advance Swim Class September 9 thru 13th at 5 p.m.

Swimming lessons for beginners September 9 thru 13th at 4 p.m. ages 4-7 years old.

New at TLFWC

Tyler King and Dee Soma have started a new kid’s class called FAST ages 8-18 years old.

FAST stands for Functional Aerobic Strength Training. 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
