Joyce Vitatoe Koontz, 72, Cookeville, Tennessee and a native of Albany, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Koontz, an infant son, Michael Ray Koontz and her parents, Earl W. (Bud) Vitatoe and Ruth Vitatoe Bussell.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tonicka and David Allen; a sister, Jan Vitatoe, all of Cookeville, TN; two grandchildren, Brian Cox and Rebecca Cox Bohannon; and two great-grandsons, Spencer Cox and Camden Denny.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gentiva Hospice Foundation. Arrangements made through Talbott Funeral Home of Albany.
