A Clinton County native gave the keynote address at this year’s Lindsey Wilson College President’s List and Dean’s List Banquet.
Steven Tallent of Albany, a 2003 Clinton County High School graduate, addressed the students who were honored Thursday night by the college in the LWC Roberta D. Cranmer Dining adn Conference Center.
Students named to the President’s List have a semester grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale; and students named to the Dean’s List have a semester grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
Tallent, a 2007 LWC graduate, is in his third year of dental school at the University of Louisville.
In his remarks, Tallent credited his LWC biology degree with helping him get accepted into the extremely competitive dental school.
Tallent was one of 3,000 individuals who applied for 80 spots in his dental school class.
“You can do anything you want with your Lindsey Wilson education — it’s up to you,” he said.
Tallent encouraged students to get involved while they are enrolled at LWC.
“While you are a student here, flip over every rock, get involved, take advantage of opportunities,” he said. “Take everything you can with you when you leave this place. Then pass it on and help other people.”
