Bruce Carrender, 63, Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Bob and Stella (Crabtree) Carrender. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Carrender was the owner of several area businesses, including Wolf River Marina on Dale Hollow Lake in southwestern Clinton County.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Prince) Carrender, four daughters, Lisa (Craig) Perkens, Sheila (Joe) Hicks, Robin (Mark) Lewis, all of Monticello, KY; Tiffany (Jeff) Patrick, Somerset, KY; three brothers, Donald “Duke” and David Carrender, both of Monticello, KY; Kay Carrender, Somerset, KY; five sisters, Earshal Lowe, Shirley Mikel, Della Patton and Yvonne Criswell, all of Monticello, KY; Eleanor Bertram, PA; also eight grandchildren, Bryant Dunagan, Wesley and Jarrett Perkins, Holden and Tristan Bruce Patrick, Marissa, Mariah and Maria Hicks.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. Eastern time at Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in Monticello with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Final resting place in Elk Spring Cemetery in Wayne County. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Fund or New Charity Baptist Church Building Fund.
