Golf teams take district titles

Both the girls’ and boys’ golf teams finished in first place Thursday at Dale Hollow State Resort Park as this year’s district tournament was a home match for the two squads.

For the boys, Clinton County scored a team score of 164, while Cumberland County finished with a 170 and Metcalfe County scored a 199.

For the Dawgs, Jeff Brown and Eli Brown tied by shooting 40 for their rounds, while Kenny Stinson, John Crouch, and Kolby Smith all finished with 42.

For the girls, Clinton County finished with a team score of 169 with Ansley Stalcup picking up the medalist honors with a 39 for her round. Macy Campbell and Sam Stinson both finished with 42, Bree Boils carded a 46 and London Honeycutt fiinished with a 53.

Eli Brown got into some trouble during his round and had to hit out of the woods making this approach shot during the District Tournament Thursday. Brown was the low round holder, along with Jeff Brown. Both shot 40 on the day.

London Honeycutt hit her approach shot on to number one green Thursday during Clinton County’s district tournament at Dale Hollow State Resort Park. Honeycutt finished with a 53.
