To the Editor,

Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and blessed by God as a favored only Son of His.

Matthew 4:1-2 says, “Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungred.” He was tempted first to turn stones into bread. Second time He was tempted to jump from the highest place on the roof of the temple in Jerusalem.

I wonder at the site of Jesus and the devil standing on that high roof. How did they get up there? I believe Jesus was both human and divine. He knows by experience what it’s like to be a human, and yet he died a terribly painful death so all humans could have a chance to live forever in heaven.

The third temptation was to worship the devil, and be given ownership of the world. Jesus rejected all three temptations, and stayed in the will of God for His life.

It’s awful hard sometimes, but we can follow the steps of Jesus. It’s worth it all!
