Mary Eva Brown, 88, New Castle, Indiana and a native of Albany, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was the wife of the late Rev. Otto Brown, daughter of the late Almer Ryan and Susan (Farmer) Butler and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bercie York, Anna Lou Steele and Ruth Kinsey, two brothers, Willard and Delmar “Shine” Butler, a great-grandson and a step-grandson.

She is survived by seven children, E. Dwain (Anna Ruth) Brown, New Castle, IN; Marilyn Frances (Ted) Garner, Mooreland, IN; Jerry K. (June) Brown, Frostproof, FL; Johnnie E. (Beth) Brown, New Castle, IN; Martha G. (Steve) Hall, Spiceland, IN; Norma J. (Scott) Warnes, Springport, IN; Patty L. Daffron, Chocowinity, N.C.; also 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Wallace McFarland of Russell Springs, KY and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with final resting place in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Arrangements made through Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service of New Castle, Indiana. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com.
