Robert Kirby Stearns, 78, of Florida, passed away September 28, 2013 in Florida. He was a retired Navy veteran of 30 years with the rank of Chief Petty Officer and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was the son of late John Luther and Oda Marcum Stearns and was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Conner and three brothers, William A., Kay and Keith Stearns.

He is survived by four sisters, Kolema Davis, Taylorsville, KY; Kate Dowell, Ramelle Cole and Estelle Groce, all of Albany; also several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. at McWhorter Cemetery with Military Honors and Rev. David Stearns officiating. Arrangements made through Weldon Haddix Funeral Home of Albany.
