Long-time Albany businessman and pharmacist, James Franklin “Jim” Dyer, Jr., age 78, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Clinton County Hospital. He was the son of the late James Franklin and Leah (Sloan) Dyer and was also preceded in death by a son, James Franklin “Jimmy” Dyer III, and three sisters, Virginia Pemberton, Eula Pickens Tucker and Jean Dyer Dicken.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Ferrell) Dyer; a daughter, Jennifer Dyer; four grandchildren, Sloan Dyer, James Franklin Dyer IV, William Cox and Christopher Cox, all of Albany; a daughter-in-law, Cindy (Sloan) Dyer of Monticello, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, 2013 at Albany United Methodist Church with Pastors Bobby Grant and Charlie Shoemaker officiating. Final resting place in Albany Cemetery.
