Volley Dawgs end year in regional play
Things didn’t go so well for our Volley Dawgs Monday night in regional tournament action as they saw their 2013 campaign come to an end after giving up three sets to the Purples of Bowling Green, 25-6, 25-8 and 25-10.
Still, it was a successful season overall for the squad, picking up a 16th District Runner-up claim, and advancing to regional play.
Congrats to the players and staff on a good season.
Gridiron comes to a close this weekend
Football fans will be donning the jackets and stocking hats one last time this Friday night and heading out to Bulldog Field.
The Bulldogs will be taking the field for the final time in this 2013 season, taking a 4-5 overall record into Friday night’s final contest of the season as they go up against the 3A Generals of Jackson County.
Kickoff for this final game of the season is slated for 7:00 p.m. and weather conditions should be fantastic for Friday Night Lights – partly cloudy skies and temps in the upper 40s.
As Clinton County sought to rebuild and strengthen its program this season, Coach Jamie Miller opted to pick up some games with opponents more suited to the Bulldog’s sized program, and it paid off this season, with Clinton County putting together four victories so far and at least giving our players the taste of victory from time to time.
In doing so, the Bulldogs will not be participating in the post-season playoff system.
Roundball around the corner
Just another reminder that basketball is just ahead for Clinton County Lady Dawg and Bulldog fans. The annual kick-off event, Big Blue Mania and Meet the Bulldogs, again is slated for Friday, November 15 and will give local fans their first chance to watch the teams in action.
Mark the date down – more details as they are made available.
