Chief Financial Officer for Russell County Hospital, Michael Logan, reported that September was a “very good month for us,” at last Thursday’s meeting of the hospital board.
Logan said there was a net income of $252,000 for the month, up from the $207,000 this month last year.
He said a number of factors contributed, a positive net operating income compared to a loss budgeted, the adjusting to trends of outpatient services versus inpatient and revenue cycle enhancement.
Logan said overall there is a 22 percent decrease in admissions over this time last year, but the trend showing the inpatient surgeries have decreased 15 percent, outpatient surgeries have increased by 38 percent.
