Homemakers to present first annual Christmas Market
Looking for great Christmas gifts? Clinton County Extension Homemakers are looking for local crafters, bakers, and merchants to set up shop at the First Annual Clinton County Christmas Market. The Christmas Market will be held December 2, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Christmas Village set for Nov. 21
The Homemakers Annual Christmas Village will be held on November 21st at the Learning Center from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Participants ages 3-12 will be allowed to purchase up to six gifts for family members. Most items cost $5 or less. Homemaker elves will shop with the children so that gifts will be a true surprise when opened. Story time, singing, and simple crafts will be available. Santa will be there, so bring your camera for those special holiday photos! For more information, contact the Extension Office at 387-5404.
Holiday favors and flavors
The Clinton and Cumberland County Extension Offices will offer a Holiday Favors and Flavors program on Saturday, November 23rd. There will be lessons and take home ideas for Sweet Treats, Holiday Entertaining, Wrap It Up, Pamper Yourself, and Specially Created Gifts. Session I will be held at the Cumberland County Extension Office with registration 8:00-8:30 a.m. and the program 8:30-10:30 a.m. Session II will be held at the Clinton County Extension Office with registration 12:00-12:30 p.m. and the program 12:30-2:30 p.m. Classes will be the same at each location. Choose the time and place that works best for you! A $5.00 registration fee is due to your local Extension Office by November 18th. kynect Help Days
The Clinton County Health Coalition will sponsor kynect Help Days to review applications turned in to community partners (Extension, FRYSC, Library, Health Department, Community Action, and Hospital) by November 14th.
A kynect Help Day for applicants with last names A-H ONLY will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon or 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Community Center.
A separate kynect Help Day for applicants last names I-Z ONLY will be held on Friday, December 6th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon or 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Community Center.
Please be prepared and bring the following items with you to your assigned kynect Help Day: Social Security card, birth certificate, driver’s licenses, and income verification (last paystub, 2012 tax return, monthly benefit award letter, or bank statement). Surviving the Season – managing diabetes
Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center and Dyer Drug in Albany KY will be hosting a class on managing your diabetes through the holiday season. The class is free. You do not need to be a TLFWC member to attend. The class begins Tuesday, November 19th and runs for four weeks. The class will be presented by a registered nurse and pharmacist.
Christmas Decoration Sale cancellation
The Christmas Decoration Sale at Clinton County Hospital scheduled for Thursday, November 14 has been cancelled due to an illness.
5K run, 2-mile walk,
1-mile kids Fun Run
On Saturday, November 23, the 6th annual 5k run, 2 mile walk and 1 mile kids Fun Run will be held starting at 8 a.m. at the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center, with registration between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. Health vendors will be on-site. The first 100 applicants will receive a long sleeve t-shirt. Applications are available at the Wellness Center or by contacting Lisa Beard. For more information call 606-387-6099 or 606-387-9622.

4-H Beekeeper’s Club
meeting announced
If you are interested in learning more information about potentially becoming involved with beekeeping. Clinton County 4-Hwill be having an informative meeting about the steps, costs, and fun that you can have starting your own project.
The meeting will take place at the Extension Office on Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 PM. Our 4-H beekeeping volunteer, Val Lulaks, will lead the discussion with other members of the Clinton County Beekeepers.
This meeting is purely informational, but those who are serious about starting a project will begin to order supplies and meet regularly to discuss beekeeping techniques.

Clinton County Relay for Life will meet Monday, November 18 at 5 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center. Anyone interested is urged to attend.
TLFWC to offer boot camp to get in shape
Tired of having no energy? Want to get rid of those extra stubborn pounds? Want to tone your arms, legs, back and abs? Come join us for Jennifer’s Boot Camp at the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center! TLFWC hosts
concealed carry class
Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting a concealed carry/safety class November 16th. The Class is eight hours long(part of this class will take place at the gun range). Adair Homemakers’ Bazaar
The Adair County Extension Homemakers’ Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall, Fairgrounds Street in Columbia. Healthy holidays diabetes class
A free health holidays diabetes class, will be offered Tuesday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Clinton County Health Department. Pre-registration is required by calling 387-5711, ext. 1166 to sign up. Also every Tuesday in January, Learning to Control Diabetes–Step by Step classes will be offered from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
