The Cumberland County High School Marching Band finished with a strong season.

The CCHS Band competed in the 2013 US BANDS Southern States Championship last weekend in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The band won the Class A Championship, sweeping away caption awards in Music Effect, Visual Effect, Overall Effect, and Percussion.

In addition the band was awarded the 2013 Marine Corps “Espirit de Corps” Award given to one band that best exemplifies the characteristics of pride, professionalism and patriotism. This award was only given to one of the 16 competing units.

In addition to last Saturday’s championship, the CCHS Band also achieved a consecutive State Marching Band Semi-Finals appearance after a Top Eight Finish in the State Regional.
