The Clinton County High School JROTC Bulldog Battalion traveled to White County High School, Sparta, Tennessee, Saturday, November 23, 2013, to compete in the 21st Annual Upper Cumberland Drill and Color Guard Competition.
The Bulldog Battalion won 1st Place in the Unarmed Drill; 1st and 2nd Place in the Color Guard; 3rd Place in Armed Drill. Lizzi Clontz, shown at left accepting her award, won 1st Place in the Individual Drill Knockout event. Other Bulldog Battalion competitors placing in the top 15 in the Knockout Drill were: Derek Dyer 7th Place, Dakota Melton 12th Place, Felishia Hammond 13th Place, and Mary Grider 14th Place.
The Unarmed Drill Team was commanded by cadet Captain Derek Dyer. The Armed Drill Team was commanded by Cadet First Sergeant Kristina Huddleston. The Color Guard (1st Place Team) was commanded by Cadet Command Sergeant Major Lizzi Clontz. The Color Guard (2nd Place Team) was commanded by Cadet Major Felishia Hammond.
