Fiscal Court regular meeting

Clinton County Fiscal Court will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, December 19 at 5 p.m. at the Clinton County Community Center. The meeting is open to the general public.

Industrial Authority meeting

The Clinton County Industrial Development Authority will meet Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Horseshoe Grill. The meeting is open to the general public.

Happy Angels fundraiser

Happy Angels is putting on a fundraiser for the dogs. Come out and take a picture with Santa. All kids and animals of all ages are welcome. The event will be at the Community Center starting at 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 17. The amount for the picture is $5.00. All proceeds will go toward dog food, veterinary care and transportation. Donations are greatly appreciated. Contact Melinda Hybner at (606) 688-0509.

Wellness Center to offer

concealed carry/safety class

Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting a concealed carry/safety class January 18, 2014. The class is eight hours long (part of this class will take place at the gun range.) The cost of the class is $60. Gift certificates are available for Christmas. If you would like to sign up for the class or receive more information, please stop in or call 606-387-9622.

Cross Fit and Tone classes

Come join in Cross Fit and Tone at the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center. The class is led by Brandy Cooksey and will be offered Fridays beginning December 20 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

TLFWC Gift Certificates

Is your Santa’s list getting hard to fill? Give someone on your list the gift of good health at Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center. Sign up before January 6 and all sign up fees are waived! Gift certificates are now available at TLFWC for the holidays. For more information call 606-387-9622.

Learning to control diabetes

The Clinton County Health Department will be giving Learning to Control Diabetes classes each Tuesday throughout the month of January, the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Classes are free but pre-registration is required by calling 387-5711, ext. 1166.

Farmhouse donating 100 meals

The Farmhouse Restaurant, Byrdstown, Tennessee, will once again be donating 100 meals for those who won’t be having a Christmas dinner in Albany/Clinton County, Kentucky. These will be delivered on Christmas Eve morning, between 11 a.m. and 12 noon. Reservations will be taken for deliveries from Monday, December 9 through the evening of Saturday, December 21 or until meals are all reserved. To make reservations call 387-0005. Do not leave a message on the answering machine, you must talk to a person. They will need your name, phone number and physical address (no P.O. Boxes please) and number of meals needed. The youth group from Westview Christian Church will be delivering the meals on Christmas Eve.

Local/State Public Hearing

On behalf of the Clinton County Local Planning Committee, the Clinton County Board of Education will convene a Local/State Public Hearing to review the proposed District Facilities Plan. The hearing will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Central Office board room at 5:30 p.m. local time. This hearing will be for the purpose of recording testimony concerning the District Facilities Plan. Copies of the proposed District Facilities Plan will be available for examination by interested individuals at the board office, 2353 North Highway 127, Albany, Kentucky 42602, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. through December 19, 2013. New dates for acreage reporting with Farm Service Agency

Albany Farm Service Agency would like to make local farmers aware of new acreage reporting dates: December 15, 2013 – FallbBarley, fall wheat, and all other fall-seeded small grains.

Farmers must file their reports accurately and timely for all crops and land uses, including prevented and failed acreage, to ensure they receive the maximum FSA program benefits possible.

Individuals may stop by the USDA Service Center between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. 8-3p

TLFWC to offer boot camp to get in shape
