To the Editor,

I was watching and listening to some really good singing on KET when one of the young tenors told a very moving true story.

He was getting ready to perform somewhere when he crossed paths with an older man. This man told him the only other time he had heard the young man’s name was many years ago. There was a man who sang Irish tenor.

The young man told him that was his grandfather. He had sang on Canadian TV during the 1940s, 50s and 60s, and he died before he was born.

It turns out the older man had worked as a camera man on some of those TV shows. He had saved tapes that included performances done by the grandfather. The young singer put his father and the camera man in touch. This led to the old tapes being put on a new kind of machine we have now.

The following Easter the grandfather’s family got together to watch and listen to those old black and white performances.

I just can’t help but believe God had a big hand in the saving of those tapes, and their moving from hand to hand. How pleased the grandfather would be to know his family–especially his singing grandson–got to see and hear his God given talent!

How many times has God arranged things in your life and mine? I say many times.
