Several churches in the area came together this Christmas season to provide the Drive Thru the Life of Christ event.

The event was held last Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Albany United Church of the Nazarene and cars were lined up to get in.

Ramona Moles, volunteer for the event, said more than 80 vehicles and 244 people attended Thursday night, followed by 121 vehicles and 404 people attended Friday night for the first annual event.

Moles said the event was canceled Saturday night due to weather, but talks are already in the works for next year’s event.

The purpose behind the event is to show how people came together as one to show the true meaning of Christmas.

Those churches participating in the event were: Grace Union Baptist, Lee’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Albany United Church of the Nazarene, Five Springs United Methodist Church, New Bethel Church and Faith Tabernacle Assembly.
