Clinton County Library announces book signing Jan. 11

Glenn A. Edwards will be at the Clinton County Public Library on Saturday, January 11 at 10 a.m. for a book signing.

Mr. Edwards is a resident of Springfield, Kentucky, is employed full-time by the military and a researcher for the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization. He is the author of “Squatching Novice Guide Book,” a how-to for new investigators of Bigfoot, and the “Balance” series, a fictional Bigfoot theme series. The author will be on hand for a signing and a Bigfoot discussion.

Total Body Toning classes

Total Body Toning–Experience this challenging and dynamic whole body conditioning class. This class utilizes equipment including weights, resistance bands, kettle-bells, Bosu balls and more!! Work your muscles in every way possible in this class designed to build strength, add definition, increase your bone density, and decrease your body fat by increasing lean muscle!! Intro to weight lifting class to be held

The Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting an Introduction to Weight Lifting class on January 16 and 17, 2014, at 5 p.m. The class will be taught by Eric Peterson. Peterson is a former Marine and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. The class will last for one hour and will cover the fundamentals, strategies and techniques that apply to all levels of weight, strength and resistance training.

Wellness Center to offer

concealed carry/safety class

Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting a concealed carry/safety class January 18, 2014. The class is eight hours long (part of this class will take place at the gun range.) The cost of the class is $60. Gift certificates are available for Christmas. If you would like to sign up for the class or receive more information, please stop in or call 606-387-9622.

Cross Fit and Tone classes

Come join in Cross Fit and Tone at the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center. The class is led by Brandy Cooksey and will be offered Fridays beginning December 20 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Learning to control diabetes

The Clinton County Health Department will be giving Learning to Control Diabetes classes each Tuesday throughout the month of January, the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Classes are free but pre-registration is required by calling 387-5711, ext. 1166.

TLFWC to offer boot camp to get in shape

Tai Chi classes now available

VA Rep available 

Veterans and their families seeking benefits in south central Kentucky will now be able to find help and advice at a central location. Gary Jones, the Veterans Benefits Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 126 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Tuesday, second Thursday and third Monday of each month. Veterans can schedule an appointment by phoning 270-651-9578 or toll free at 800-850-1392. 

Narcotics Anonymous 

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights at 7 p.m. at the Bright Idea Missionary Baptist Church basement in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.
