Grand jury returns several multicount indictments

The Clinton County Grand Jury convened Monday, December 16 and returned several indictments, including a host of multi-count true bills handed down in open Circuit Court.

The following indictments were returned last week:

* The alleged offense of possession of a controlled substance first degree against Anthony Blake Lee, when on or about September 14 the defendant possessed a controlled substance that contains a quantity of morphine.

* The alleged offense of possession of a controlled substance (on or about September 15) and possession of a controlled substance first degree (meth) and possession of a drug paraphernalia, (on or about October 25) against Ricky L. Duvall, when the defendant possessed a controlled substance that contains any quantity of meth and possessed drug paraphernalia.

* The alleged offenses of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance first degree (meth) against Vanessa M. Ferrell, when on or about October 25 the defendant possessed drug paraphernalia and possessed methamphetamine.

* The alleged offenses of possession of a controlled substance first degree (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia, against Billy J. Craig, when on or about October 25, the defendant possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Also, on or about August 10, the alleged offenses of failure to use seat belt; DUI first offense; driving on a suspended license; failure to maintain insurance; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance that contains any quantity of morphine.

* The alleged offenses of possession of a controlled substance first degree (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia against Karla R. Martin, aka Karla Daniels, aka Karla Thurman, when on or about September 25, the defendant possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

* The alleged offense of possession of a controlled substance first degree against Ashley McCusker, when on or about September 15 the defendant possessed a controlled substance that contained a quantity of morphine.

* The alleged offense of possession of a controlled substance against Ricky W. Perdue, when on or about August 31, the defendant possessed a controlled substance that contains any quantity of morphine.

* The alleged offenses of wanton endangerment first degree (three counts) and DUI for alcohol concentration at or above 0.08 or above 0.02 for persons under the age of 21, against Samuel Taylor Sheffield, when on or about November 29, the defendant operated a motor vehicle while under the influence and when operating his vehicle on the runway of Spring Creek Airpark driving at a high rate of speed, excelled off the runway going airborne and turning over several times while having three passengers in said vehicle.

* The alleged offense of flagrant nonsupport against Harold Race, when on or about November 19, 2004 through December 16, 2013, defendant failed to provide support for his minor child or children, said failure to pay having resulted in an arrearage of $29,926.50.

* The alleged offense of flagrant nonsupport against Luther Conner, when on or about December 5, 2011 through December 16, 2013, defendant failed to provide support for his minor child or children, said failure to pay having resulted in an arrearage of $5,206.00.

* The alleged offense of flagrant nonsupport against Erick C. Wehrman, when on or about May 19 through December 16, 2013, defendant failed to provide support for his minor child or children, said failure to pay having resulted in an arrearage of $1,656.00
