Boaters on the water at Dale Hollow Lake, as well as guests and customers of Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, have been treated to the above scene for wishes of a Merry Christmas from Trooper Island Camp for the past few weeks. The display was put in place by the camp director, Endre Samu, and his wife, Rhonda, and is especially picturesque in the nighttime hours, when the water casts a reflective glow from the decorations as well as from the recently constructed monument on the north side of the island. The monument is a memorial to the Kentucky State Police officers who have died in the line of duty. The structure behind the monument is Upchurch Memorial Chapel.
