On Tuesday evening, December 31, the Edmonton City Police and Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department responded to a fight complaint on North Main Street in Edmonton. After the scene was cleared, Deputy Huffman turned around at a nearby barn and at that time observed two white males seated in a pickup in the barn.

When Deputy Huffman approached the vehicle a strong chemical odor related to the manufacturing of meth was detected. Upon arrival, the deputy viewed a meth lab in plain view. Consent to search was signed by the owner of the vehicle. Several items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine were found at the scene.

Metcalfe County DES Director Emory Kidd was called to the scene for collection and disposal of the hazardous materials.

Deputy Huffman then arrested 31-year-old Robert L. Hutchinson II of 425 Certain Lane, Glasgow and 18-year-old Kalen A. Bowman of 2436 Roseville Road, Glasgow. Both were charged with manufacturing meth-first offense; unlawful possession of a meth precursor-first offense; and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.

Hutchinson was also charged with DUI on a suspended license-first offense. Both Hutchinson and Bowman were lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
