KSP Trooper Logan Richardson is investigating a collision that occurred Sunday at 9:30 a.m. CST at the crossroads intersection of KY 90 and 163. Forty-five-year-old Tammy Colee, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was operating a 2004 Buick, traveling north on KY 163. Colee failed to stop at the intersection of KY 90 and struck a westbound 2006 flatbed semi-truck, operated by 35-year-old Jeremy Cole of Burkesville, Kentucky in the side. The Buick then struck a 2012 Jeep operated by 38-year-old Susan Mathews of Glasgow, Kentucky. Mathews was waiting to make a left turn onto KY 163 from KY 90.
Colee was belted and was flown from the the scene to Vanderbilt Hospital. A passenger, 19-year-old Colleen Colee of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene by Metcalfe County Coroner Larry Wilson. A passenger, one-year-old Kaden Adams of Indianapolis, was in a child restraint device and was transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital.
Jeremy Groce was belted and refused treatment while Susan Mathews, belted, was transported by a private vehicle to the hospital.
The collision remains under investigation. Trooper Richardson was assisted at the scene by Metcalfe County Fire, EMS and Rescue.
