Charlene King
Candidate for County Judge/Executive
I was born and raised on a small dairy/tobacco farm in the Static Community in Clinton County.
I had the honor to be the first female to be elected County/Judge Executive in Clinton County and the first judge ever to be re-elected to consecutive terms from 1994-2002.
I’ve always worked hard and served on over 10 boards and commissions. I was honored to have been appointed by three different governor’s to serve Kentucky in various positions. In 2001 my fellow Kentucky judges voted me the “County Judge/Executive of the Year.”
My administration concentrated on jobs and education, and with the help and hard work of many others, we were able to do great things for our county, some of which are: Cagles/Keystone plant, Learning Center/Library, Early Childhood Center, KCTCS, Clinton County Hospital expansion, the emergency services building which helped Air Evac to locate in the county, built the industrial park, helped local businesses, purchased new ambulances and fire trucks, and purchased the land where the new fire station will be built.
I believe it is important to have an industrial site ready in order to attract business.
My priority again will be on jobs that pay a living wage and education. Education and training opportunities for people of all ages can only make us a better and more prosperous community.
I’m also very encouraged, and humbled, by all the people from Clinton County who worked so hard when I was judge to serve in those positions that helped Clinton County so much, saying that they are willing to help again.
I still have many friends and contacts, both in Frankfort and Washington, who will help me help Clinton County.
I ask for your vote and promise that I will work as hard as I did before to move our county forward for all our citizens.
