Good Neighbors Theatre proudly announces its next production: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The story was adapted into a play by Richard R. George from the beloved children’s book by Roald Dahl.
The play centers around a good kid named Charlie whose family is very poor. Charlie, along with four other ‘not-so-good’ children, wins the chance of a lifetime to enter Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
Inside the factory, they witness many amazing things and go on a thrilling adventure. The play is exciting and fun, a great experience for both children and adults.
The play also has a large cast which includes: Ryan Thomas and Makayla Lee as Narrators, Brian Cross as Willy Wonka, Zane Garner as Charlie Bucket,
Chandler Winningham as Augustus Gloop, Kendra Lee as Violet Beauregarde, Faith Appleby as Veruca Salt, Joseph Cross as Mike Teavee, Louis Davis and Franky Butler sharing the role of Mr. Bucket, Sandra Lee as Mrs. Bucket, Ron Bledsoe as Grandpa Joe, Evelyn Cummings as Grandma Josephine, Jack Eliassen as Grandpa George, Darlene Neeley as Grandma Georgina, Janet Butler as Mrs. Gloop, Aliea Garner as Mrs. Beauregarde, Jessica Perkins as Mrs. Salt, Shawn Hammock as Mrs. Teavee, with Oompa Loompas played by Dakota Brown, Anna Davis, Kyra Phares, Brianna Alvarez, Tucker Hammock, Morgan Hammock, Cole Reeder, and Dylan Storie, with Squirrels played by Peyton Pyzik, Delaney Shafer, Aliza Davis, Adalyn Davis, and Victoria Pryor, and extras and backstage help provided by Rhyan Williford, Annie Davis, Cheyenne Brown, Taylor Brown, Kaylee Appleby, Deon Thomas, and Daniel Thomas.
The play is under the direction of Amanda Hatfield with the assistance of director Melva Nunnery.
Performances are Feb. 28 and March 1 at 7:00 and March 2 at 2:00, then March 6, 7, and 8 at 7:00. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Children two and under that are able to sit in a parent’s lap are free.
