The Clinton County Extension Office, in conjunction with the Homemakers Club, hosted a luncheon Friday, February 7, to promote Heart Health Awareness for women.

February is designated as American Heart Month and, in conjunction with that, the Extension Office and Homemakers Club took the cause one step further, concentrating on women’s heart health.

In the United States, one in four women die of heart disease. Symptoms of the disease are also different from men’s symptoms.

The extension office plans to promote Heart Health Awareness for women during the month with several events planned.

For businesses around Albany, the Window/Door decorating contest is still ongoing with the deadline to enter being February 18. For more information on the contest or for information about Heart Health Awareness, contact the extension office at 606-387-5404.
