Albert Gene Gibbons, 65, Lancaster, Kentucky and formerly of Albany, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Dudley Alvis and Reba (Hoover) Gibbons and was also preceded in death by a son, Gene Gibbons, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Bill Duncan.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Deboard) Gibbons; three daughters, Tammy (Greg) Thrasher, Columbia, KY; Sherry (Richard) Redman, Tana (Donald) Story, a daughter-in-law, Patty Gibbons, all of Albany; three step-sons, James (Connie) Nevels, Lancaster, KY; George Nevels, Richmond, KY; Gerry (Laura) Nevels, Lexington, KY; three sisters, Lee Oma (Gerald) Marcum, Alpha, KY; Charlotte Duncan and Tina Gibbons Polson, a brother, Cleddis (Lisa) Gibbons, all of Albany; also 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Pastor Steven VanHook officiating. Final resting place in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Arrangements made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany. Online condolences may be made at www.campbell-new.com.
