A Cookeville man has been arrested after he was found slumped over the center console of his vehicle on South Jefferson street.

Jonathan Salada, of Cookeville, committed the offense of simple possession/casual exchange by having a controlled substance in his possession. According to the report, he had one Alprazolam.

Salada, 22, was arrested for driving under the influence. According to Brandon Tayes’ report, he was on patrol going north on South Jefferson when he observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road. Tayes stated in the report that he found the driver “slumped over the center console with the vehicle running.”

When the subject noticed Tayes, the report said that he pulled out into traffic “in a reckless manner.” Tayes got Salada stopped and noticed he was unsteady on his feet.

Tayes administered three sobriety tasks and Salada failed to complete all three of these.

Tayes informed Salada about the implied consent law and Salada refused to take a chemical test.
