Racket Dawgs play home match

The Clinton County Tennis teams found a dry day to host a match last week as Monroe County came to the courts at Clinton County High School.

For the girls’ team, Clinton County picked up three wins and three losses in both doubles and singles combined.

In singles play, Bianca Soma won her match, 8-2, as did Rachel Claborn, 6-4.

Kesha Patrick dropped her match in singles play, 6-4.

In doubles play, the team of Ashley Harper and Kristin Smith lost, 6-3, and the team of Chesney Polston and Allisa Cook also fell, 6-3.

The team of Patrick and Smith defeated their opponents 6-2.

For the boys side, Clinton County picked up three wins and five losses in both doubles and singles play,

In singles play, Chris Cox lost, 8-3, John Crouch fell, 6-4 and Frank Zheng lost 6-1.

Winners for Clinton County singles were, Haley Matthews, 6-5 and Matthew Wells, 7-5.

In doubles play, the team of Glen England and Matthews lost 8-5. The team of Hunter and Wells fell, 6-3, but the team of Jadeon Page and Crouch took their match, 6-4.
