Chamber of Commerce to meet

The Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday, May 21 at 12 noon at Lee’s Famous Recipe. Door prizes will be awarded.

Springtime Beauties Pageant

The 3rd annual Springtime Beauties Pageant 2014, sponsored by the CCHS girls’ softball team, will be held Sunday, May 4 at the Clinton County High School. Attire: Sunday wear/dress, no glitz or pageant wear. Ages: 0-8 year boys/0-12 year girls/couples, 5-8 years. Time will be 2 p.m. and contestants must be registered 10 minutes prior to their division. Pre-registration is $15 by Friday, May 2 and $20 at the door. Registration forms may be picked up and turned in at Upchurch Carpet and Klassic Shop, (AES students, Tonda Thompson), (ECC students, Tina Langford). Precinct officer training session

The training session of election precinct officers for the May 20 primary election will be held Friday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Courthouse. All officers are urged to attend.

CCMS Site Base Council Parent Election

The Clinton County Middle School will have a Parent Site Based Council Member election on Thursday, May 1 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the front office. To be eligible to vote you must have a student attending CCMS for the 2014-15 school year. All voting must be done in person.

City Council regular meeting

Albany City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, May 6 at 5 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public.

Concealed carry class at Twin Lakes Wellnesss Center

Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting a concealed carry/safety class May 17th, taught by Jennifer Warinner. The Class is eight hours long and part of this class will take place at the gun range).

The cost of the class is $75. Deadline for sign up – May 10. Gift certificates are available to purchase.

Celebrating 100 years of

Clinton County Extension

Clinton County Extension will host an Extension Turns 100 event on Thursday, May 8th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. to recognize Celebrating 100 Years of Extending Knowledge and Changing Lives. Make plans to stop by and celebrate with us!

Diabetes classes offered

The Clinton County Health Department is offering free support group diabetes classes each Tuesday during the month of May called Learning to Control Diabetes-Step by Step! The classes are free but pre-registration is required by calling 387-5711, ext. 1166.

Family Fun Run and 5K Run

Clinton County Healthy Hometown Coalition will sponsor a Family Fun Run and 5K Run For the Roses on Saturday, May 3 starting at Mountain View Park. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a $15 fee. Lake Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start pre-enrollment

Lake Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start is now taking applications for the 2014-15 school year. Head Start is for three and four-year old children and Early Head Start for income-eligible families, including pregnant women, infants and toddlers through age three.
