Final Week of Barefoot in the Park

“A bubbling, rib-tickling comedy.” – said The New York Times when Barefoot in the Park appeared on Broadway. It was made into a 1967 movie with Robert Redford, who also was in the stage production, and Jane Fonda in the lead roles. The 1963 Tony-nominated comedy play by Neil Simon is about a young couple and their odd neighbors in their small apartment building in Greenwich Village, New York. It explores the troubles that newlyweds face. The Broadway production lasted nearly four years, with over 1500 performances.

Performances in Byrdstown’s Good Neighbors Theatre on Highway 111 are May 8, 9, and 10 at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Melva Nunnery.

Leading roles are played by Amanda and Donovan Hatfield. Debbie Cross and Janet Keisling share supporting actress and Paul Petrick plays opposite them in the supporting male role. Danny Thomas and Jeff Neeley round out the cast of this clever romantic comedy.

Ticket price is $12 for adults and $10 for children 3-12. Infants through age two are free if they are on a lap. Tickets are available at the Byrdstown/Pickett County Chamber of Commerce and can be placed on Will Call by calling (931) 864-7195. Tickets may also be purchased in advance in person at the Chamber Office on Highway 111. All tickets are non-refundable.

Good Neighbors Theatre has an open seating policy. Persons needing special assistance for wheelchairs/walkers should make that know when purchasing their tickets.

Unpaid tickets on Will Call not claimed 10 minutes prior to curtain are subject to resale if the audience in attendance and including the held tickets is at sold out capacity and people are waiting to buy tickets.
