Absentee voting machine

available at County Clerk’s Office

A reminder to voters: The absentee ballot voting machine is now available for voting in the Clinton County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours through Monday, May 19 at 4 p.m. Only those persons who will not be in the county on election day are eligible to vote absentee in the clerk’s office.

Class of 1959 reunion to be held

The Clinton County High School Class of 1959 reunion meeting will be Saturday, May 24 at the Best Western Motel at 6 p.m. For more information contact Clayton Brown at 387-5704.


Lions Club pancake breakfast

Albany Lions Club will be having its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Albany Elementary School lunchroom from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. Clinton Retired Teachers meeting

Clinton County Retired Teachers will meet Tuesday, May 27 at 1 p.m. at Lee’s Famous Recipe. We would like new retirees to join us and a meal will be provided for them.


Clinton Fiscal Court to meet

Clinton County Fiscal Court will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, May 15 at 5 p.m. at the courthouse. The meeting is open to the general public.


Chamber of Commerce to meet

The Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday, May 21 at 12 noon at Lee’s Famous Recipe. Door prizes will be awarded.


Concealed carry class at Twin Lakes Wellnesss Center

Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center will be hosting a concealed carry/safety class May 17th, taught by Jennifer Warinner. The Class is eight hours long and part of this class will take place at the gun range).

The cost of the class is $75. Deadline for sign up – May 10. Gift certificates are available to purchase.

Lake Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start pre-enrollment

Lake Cumberland Head Start/Early Head Start is now taking applications for the 2014-15 school year. Head Start is for three and four-year old children and Early Head Start for income-eligible families, including pregnant women, infants and toddlers through age three. Swim lessons offered

Come join the Puddle Puppies Swim Lessons at Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center. Classes will be starting May 27.

The first session will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for two weeks. 5:15-6:15 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Cost per child is $35 and $25 for each additional child.

Starting June 3, we will be offering swim lessons on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15-6:15 p.m. and 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Swim team parent meeting scheduled

Come join our TLFWC Water Dawgs Swim Team. The swim team is open to 8-18 years old. The team offers developmental instruction, age-group training, advanced conditioning, and in-depth technique and skill analysis. A parent meeting for more information is scheduled for May 26 and May 27 at 7p.m. Team Swim runs June 2 to August 1, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9:30 a.m. Cost per swimmer is $75 for the first child and $50 for each additional child.

Lifeguard training available

TLFWC will be hosting a three day Lifeguard Training Course starting Friday, May 30. Participants must be 15 on or before June 1, 2014. Cost is $120 and includes Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid and Blood-borne Pathogens Certification. For more information call 606-688-0762 or 606-387-9622. Class will be taught by Peyton Shepard.

CCMS Family Literacy Night

The Clinton County Middle School will be having a Family Literacy Night on May 19, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Discarded library books will be on sale for $0.25 and yearbooks from previous years ranging from $3-$10 each. The VSA traveling Art Exhibit will be on display in the library featuring artwork from Derrick Dyer and James Cecil. Parents will have the opportunity to access student’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
