Two brothers were arrested late Monday night. May 12 and nearly $8,000 worth of vintage money was recovered and returned to its owner following a joint investigation by he Russell County and Adair County Sheriff’s Departments.

Donnie Young, 31, and Bradley Young, 22, were arrested late Monday night by Chief Deputy Clete McAninch and charged with second degree burglary following the joint 14-hour investigation of a burglary of a home in the Esto area of Russell County.

Donnie Young was also charged with third degree criminal mischief and receiving stolen property under $10,000 while Bradley Young was also charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.

Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss assisted McAninch in the investigation, which netted the two suspects late Monday.

The two allegedly broke into a home in the Esto community and took a large chest of vintage paper money and coins Sunday night, May 11.

McAninch commended the efforts of Moss for the assistance in the investigation and said that the two offices regularly work with one another on cases.

The arrests, which were made in Adair County, came following the money being pawned at a Columbia pawn shop on Monday.

The two were lodged in the Russell County Detention Center following their arrests.
