The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred a week ago early Monday morning on Rocks Hill Road.
Few details were available at press time, but according to Wayne County Sheriff Charles Boston, one person was injured at about 2:30 a.m. a week ago Monday.
The person, whose name had not been released, was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by a private vehicle for treatment of the gunshot wound. The person was later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Boston said officials initially thought the incident occurred in Pulaski County, so deputies with that department responded to the scene.
Once at the scene, Pulaski County deputies determined that the residence was actually in Wayne County. Boston and Deputy Bryan Worley then responded to the scene. Boston said the incident is still under investigation.
