On April 1, the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Livingston Police Department, advising of a suspicious vehicle heading into the county.

Livingston had received information concerning the subjects in the vehicle buying meth precursors in Overton County.

Pickett County Sheriff Dana E. Dowdy was patrolling Highway 111 South and got behind the vehicle and initiated the stop with Deputies Jerry Governale and Brandon Koger assisting.

Michael Melton, 40, 816 3rd Street, Albany, Ky., was charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Promotion to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

James Guffey, 47, 201 Conner Street, also of Albany, Ky., was charged with Promotion to Manufacture Methamphetamine, three counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, and Promotion of Drug Paraphernalia.

Oliver “Joseph” Cooper, 27, 2573 Junior Camp Rd., Monterey, Tn., was charged with Promotion to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

On April 3, the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible drunk driver on Highway 111. Pickett County Deputy Jerry Governale, Sgt. Jeff Flowers, and Sheriff Dana Dowdy made the stop at the Dale Hollow Shell.

Harold Wayne Pryor, 55, 4963 North York Highway, Pall Mall, was charged with DUI, Implied Consent, Promotion to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Resale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Schedule IV, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule VI.

Pryor was arrested on December 12 of last year and made a $10,000 bond that same day. The second arrest was made February 22, 2011. Bond was set at $100,000 but then was lowered to $50,000 on March 25 and Pryor posted bail.

Bond is now set at $109,000 and he has not pled to these charges at this time, according to the sheriff’s department.
