A former Clinton County resident died Friday night as a result of a single vehicle automobile accident just before midnight.

The accident claimed the life of Frank D. Gregory, 69, of Monticello, Kentucky, Friday around 11:54 p.m.

Gregory was traveling north on U.S. 127 when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility poll near Mountain View Recreation Park just north of Albany.

He was driving a red 2009 Chevrolet pickup and was transfered to Clinton County Hospital by the Clinton County EMS.

Gregory was pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident.

According to the Albany City Police, the exact cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

Among his survivors were his widow, Clinton County native Faye Gibson Gregory, and a son, Junior (Kathleen) Gregory, of Albany.
