Jessie B. Riley Short, 87, Burkesville, Kentucky and a native of Monroe County, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Cumberland County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Sammy Short and a member of Grace Union Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Bernice S. Boston; a brother, Myrl Riley, both of Burkesville, KY; a sister, Vennie Pitcock, Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, Tammy Dyer and Kim Sharp; also four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Bryant officiating. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to We Care of Burkesville.
